Unraveling Social Media One Tool at a Time

Help for this: “My Facebook Timeline Vanished!”

One morning we woke up here in the San Francisco Bay Area  to discover that Ack! all the work that had been done to create a timeline for the Oakland Tribune of the history of Oakland had disappeared.

Poof! It was gone. What did we do? First, we tried not to panic. Then, we got to work. Especially, when we learned that other pages, such as Food Editor Jackie Burrell’s  fabulous history of food in the San Francisco Bay Area,  had met the same fate. Luckily, the solution was quite simple. It was just a matter of finding it.

First, go to the “edit page” and click on “basic information”

There, you will see a place that allows you to type in a start date, and choose from a list of names such as “Founded” “Join Facebook” and more.  Just make those changes and save them and you are back in business. We had done this to start the Facebook page timelines, but they somehow became un-set. This probably happened when Facebook changed the format of setting the founding date.
